Huahine is located 66 miles northwest of Tahiti, in the Society Islands of French Polynesia. Formerly called Matairea, the island is actually composed of two islands joined by a bridge: Huahine Nui (the bigger island) and Huahine Iti. The main village of Fare is in the north of Huahine Nui. Close to the islands of Raiatea, Taha’a and Bora Bora, it is an ideal destination for those looking for tranquility and authenticity.
