How to Get to Tikehau | Flights, Ferry & Car Rentals

Tikehau is a one hour flight from Papeete on the domestic airline Air Tahiti. A shuttle ferry or your hosts will take you to your accommodation. The best way to see the island is by bike or on foot.

Getting to Tikehau

The flight from Tahiti arrives on a motu in the south of the atoll, close to the main village. Usually, your hosts will come to greet you at the airport and take you to your accommodation by boat or shuttle ferry.

Getting around in Tikehau

The island is quite small and you can easily visit it by bike or on foot. Most accommodation has bikes available for clients. It is also possible to rent a motor scooter. Your hosts will organize boat transport to anywhere on the lagoon.

Boat excursions are available if you want to discover the neighboring islands. You can also take excursions on the lagoon to visit the various motu, coral gardens, dive sites and the best beaches. Some excursions include a picnic lunch at the water’s edge on a deserted motu.
